Watt Futé: Base, Off-peak and Tempo compared, the cheapest marked

See it at work

See it at work

Five things it does, in the order you will use them.

  1. Base, Off-peak or Tempo, on your consumption

Your option, your power, your yearly kWh from the bill and the share you can run at night. Three yearly bills side by side at the grids in force, dated, the cheapest marked and the difference in euros a year. The night share that makes Off-peak win and what Tempo's 22 red days change. An estimate from your answers, with the calculation shown.

  2. Where the money goes

Type a few lines of your bill, or pick its PDF: it is read on your iPhone, nothing is sent. Your all-in kWh next to the production cost of the nuclear fleet assessed by the CRE, then every line in euros: supplier, network, excise, CTA, VAT, and the VAT charged on the taxes. France, the United States and China on one scale. Every figure with its source and date.

  3. What each appliance costs

Water heater, dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, heating, car charging: euros per cycle and per month at your real price per kWh. ADEME average consumption, editable, and the best slot in the next 24 hours when you are on Off-peak or Tempo.

    Appliances in euros per month
  4. If that is your tariff

For Off-peak and Tempo contracts: today's and tomorrow's colour from the RTE calendar, the remaining red, white and blue days of the season, your off-peak hours entered once, and the best slot for each appliance. Base households never see this screen.

  5. The regulated tariff since 2010

Your all-in price per kWh from 30 days to all time, as a step line that changes at each revision (1 February, 1 August), the taxes stacked under it, and the production facts of the French fleet with their sources. Share the chart as an image.

Official and private

Official sources

The regulated tariff grids come from the CRE deliberations, the taxes from the Journal officiel, the colour of the day from RTE's open data and the average consumption of appliances from ADEME. Updated at each revision, 1 February and 1 August. Every figure in the app carries its source and its date.

Private

No account, no ads, no tracking, no location. Your answers and your bill stay on your iPhone; the PDF of your bill is read on the device and never uploaded. Anonymous usage counts (the action and the country, never your data) can be switched off in Settings.

Questions

Questions

Is the comparison a reading of my meter?

No. It is an estimate from your answers: your option, your power, the yearly kWh printed on your bill and the share you can run at night. The three bills are computed at the grids in force, dated, and the calculation is shown next to the figure.

Does it work with my supplier?

The comparison uses the regulated tariff grids (Base, Off-peak, Tempo), which most households are on. If you are on a market offer, type your own kWh and amount in the bill screen: the decoded lines and the taxes are the same for every supplier.

What does the unlock include?

The Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, for good, shared with your family. Everything else, the comparison, the decoded bill, the appliances, the day colour, the price history, the alerts and the notification history, is free.

Where does my bill go?

Nowhere. The lines you type and the PDF you pick are read on your device. Only the figures you confirm are stored, on your device, with your widgets. The app downloads the tariff and colour files from Decodr.tech once a day, with no identifier.

Which devices and languages?

iPhone and iPad, one purchase covers both. The app is in French and English, with a Language setting (automatic by default) and an Appearance setting (system, light or dark). It is made for households in France.
