Watt Futé for iPhone and iPad
Privacy policy
Last updated November 6, 2026
Watt Futé is made by Decodr.tech. This policy explains what the iPhone and iPad app does with your data. The short version: there is no account, no advertising, no tracking and no location; your answers and your bill stay on your device; the app sends Decodr.tech only anonymous usage counts, which you can switch off, and a Product news token if you turn that on.
What stays on your device
Your option, power and yearly consumption, the lines of your bill, your night share, your off-peak hours, your appliances and their cycles, your alert rules and your settings (language, appearance) are stored on your device, in the app's own storage shared with its widgets (App Group). Nothing of it is sent anywhere. Deleting the app deletes them.
When you pick the PDF of your bill, it is read on your iPhone or iPad to find the kWh and the amount. The file is not uploaded, not copied and not kept: only the figures you confirm are stored, like the ones you type.
Tariffs, taxes and the day colour
The regulated tariff grids, the taxes and the reference figures come from a file that the app downloads from a Decodr.tech server once a day; the colour of the day comes from a second file built from RTE's open data. These requests carry no identifier and nothing about you; Decodr.tech does not log these requests. The sources are named under every figure: CRE (grids), Journal officiel (taxes), RTE (day colour), ADEME (average consumption of appliances).
Alerts, widgets and history
The alerts (red day tomorrow, off-peak start, new grid, tax change) are checked by iOS on your device and shown as local notifications: no notification server, nothing sent to Decodr.tech. The widgets read the same data on your device. The notification history is kept on your device only, for 90 days, and you can clear it.
Product news (optional)
If you turn on "Product news" in Settings, the app asks iOS for a push token and sends it to a Decodr.tech server with the app's language and version, so that Decodr.tech can send you a short notice when a new version of Watt Futé is released. The token identifies the app on your device for Apple's notification service only: it is not linked to your name, your e-mail, your answers or your bill. It is deleted from the server when you turn the switch off, and after 180 days without the app opening. The switch is off by default.
Anonymous usage counts
To know which features are used and to improve the app, Watt Futé sends anonymous counters to a Decodr.tech server. Each one is made only of: the name of an action (for example a comparison, a bill decoded, an appliance added, a range opened on the chart, the app opened from a widget, an alert fired, the unlock screen shown, a purchase or a restore), the app version and the day. The country is derived from your network connection by our server and the address is dropped. The full list of events is available on request at support@decodr.tech.
Counts are never linked to you, to a device, to your bill or to your consumption. They contain no identifier. There is no tracking across apps. You can switch them off at any time with "Anonymous usage counts" in Settings; it is on by default. When it is off, nothing is sent.
What is never collected
No account, no e-mail address, no location, no contacts, no crash reports, no advertising identifier, no tracking, no device identifier other than the Product news token described above (only if you turn it on). Your bill, your answers and your consumption never leave your device. On the App Store, the data types declared are Usage Data (product interaction) and Coarse Location (the country) for the anonymous counts, Identifiers (the push token) for Product news, and Purchase history for the widget unlock. None is linked to your identity and none is used for tracking.
Purchases
The one-time widget unlock is handled by Apple under the Apple privacy policy. Decodr.tech never sees your payment details. The app checks the purchase on the device with StoreKit.
For each sale, Apple sends Decodr.tech a server notification. One line is kept per notification (time, type, product, amount, storefront), with nothing that identifies you, and it is used only to count sales.
Children
Watt Futé is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
